The Importance of Your Morning Routine

I'm curious, what's the first thing you do after you wake up in the morning?

If you're like most people, you have a morning routine. And it's probably been the same routine for years, maybe decades.

Maybe you get out of bed, throw on your bathrobe, shuffle over to use your bathroom, then you make your way to your coffee-maker. Perhaps you also check your email, social media and the news.

I'm asking about your morning routine because how you start your day determines the quality of your day. And if you aspire to higher performance, then setting up an intentional morning routine is essential.

Your early morning is a sacred time to anchor yourself. Don't let in the outside world (emails, social media, news) in until you're grounded in yourself.

Here are some suggestions to include in your daily morning routine:

  • meditate to calm your mind
  • review your goals
  • visualize yourself achieving your goals
  • study personal growth
  • review your day's priorities
