A skillful approach to leadership

I work with leaders who operate in complex, high-responsibility environments.

My work is grounded in alignment: helping leaders develop the skill and presence required to lead well, so peace of mind becomes a natural byproduct of how they think, decide, and show up.

This work is about becoming more skillful in how you think, decide, and lead.

How my perspective was formed

Before becoming a coach, I worked in investment banking and corporate business, including close to ten years on Wall Street. I worked alongside CEOs, CFOs, and senior leadership teams on large-scale transactions and strategic initiatives, often under significant pressure.

Earlier in my career, I was - by most definitions - successful. I held a VP title, worked on high-level strategic teams, and was involved in billions of dollars of transactions and investments. Yet it was clear that advancing further would require more than competence or ambition alone.

My own experience with coaching clarified something I now see consistently in my work: at senior levels, growth is about how leaders want to see themselves, take up space, and exercise authority.  Understanding how they are perceived by others is vital, too. Those insights and feedback inform how I work with leaders today.

Over the past eleven years, I’ve brought this lens into my coaching, observing the patterns that differentiate leaders who operate with steadiness and discernment from those who rely on force, urgency, or over-functioning.

Who I work with

The leaders I work with are already capable and successful. They’re trusted with responsibility, visible in their roles, and serious about their impact.

They often come to this work not because something is wrong, but because they sense that the way they’ve been operating is no longer sufficient for what’s next.

Typically, they are:
    •    Navigating complexity, visibility, or transition
    •    Ready for refinement rather than motivation
    •    Interested in depth, not performance tactics
    •    Willing to examine how they lead

Coaching relationships usually last six to twelve months, with many clients choosing to continue working together over multiple years as their roles and responsibilities evolve.

What it’s like to work together

Clients often describe working with me as kind, focused, supportive, and direct.

I pay close attention to patterns: how leaders think and communicate under pressure, how decisions are framed, where hesitation appears, and how authority is exercised. I name what matters, challenge thoughtfully, and support the development of skill, presence, and sound judgment.

This work requires honesty and engagement. It’s best suited for leaders who are ready to take responsibility for how they lead and who value substance over reassurance.
