Confidence is an Inside Job

Sep 22, 2024

Why is it so challenging—if not impossible—to continue advancing your career without expanding your self-image?

During my time in the corporate world, I experienced significant career growth, but eventually, I hit a plateau at the VP level. It felt like I had reached a wall. It wasn’t until I discovered the concept of self-image that I  moved beyond those limits and began rapidly advancing toward my next level of achievements.

As Oprah Winfrey once said, "You don't become what you want, you become what you believe."

Self-image is one of several topics podcast host, Heather Thompson, and I recently discussed on her podcast, Recipes for Success.   Heather is a certified career and business coach whose mission is to help people globally make positive changes in their work.

I was honoured to be part of a podcast series Heather led around habits. The habit Heather specifically addressed with me: Confidence.

In addition to learning about self-image you’ll discover:

      •     Confidence is an inside-out journey that starts with mindset.

      •     Self-image plays a crucial role in personal growth and success.

      •     Persistence is key; with it, you will win.

      •     Mentorship and external support are vital for building confidence.

      •     Negative thinking can erode confidence; vigilance is necessary.

      •     Visualising your future self can help in achieving your goals.

      •     Job searches can be a personal growth journey; support is essential.

      •     Trusting the process and believing in outcomes is crucial.

      •     Action is a pathway to building confidence.

      •     Admitting limitations can be a sign of true confidence.

This episode is perfect for you if you are a successful, high-achieving leader and you'd like to rise to your next level of what's possible for you.
